This is our “Executive Express” Alvis!

 

Registration Number ASV 196. Alvis Car Number 27199.

 

This is one of only 244 saloons made. Total production was 352 cars in drophead coupé or saloon form with either manual or automatic gearboxes.

 

Straight 6 Cylinder overhead valve engine of 2993cc capacity. Twin H6 SU carburettors giving 130 BHP at 5000rpm. 4 speed ZF automatic gearbox and ZF power steering. Servo assisted disc brakes all round. Twin stainless exhaust system. Chrome wire wheels.

 

Cruising speed (when it was legal!!) of 100mph and top speed of around 110mph, with 0-60 time of under 11 seconds.

 

The car had been resting for some time and covered only 5000 miles between October 1993 and August 2001. Since then, she has clocked up over 30,000 miles, including a trip to Ireland in June 2003. She  had a new automatic gearbox fitted in 2004 and has  had her coachwork rebuilt with new panels and a complete respray.

The most recent long trip was to Northern Spain in June 2014.

  

  Now completely refurbished and ready for action!

The mileage since purchase in 2001 has now reached over 30,000.
