The car was purchased new by David in June 1995 to replace a 1989 Sovereign (XJ40), which in turn had replaced a Daimler Vanden Plas 4.2 Auto. It has the last straight six engine made by Jaguar and, in Sovereign trim, is quite a rare variant of the X300 range.
