Sunday 11th October: drive back to Miami to meet up with the Layzells. Part Two.

 

    After an excellent breakfast we set off on the I 95 for Miami, cutting across to highway 1 for the last stretch. It was surprisingly busy at the Miami end. We were to meet the Layzells for coffee at their house in the gated Keystone Islands area of Miami. We then treated them to lunch at the TGI Fridays Restaurant at the Biscayne Shopping centre off highway 1. We had an enjoyable meal and it was delightful to meet overseas Alvis owners. John has a 1925 Alvis 12/50 tourer and 1937 Alvis Speed 25 door saloon. The last time we met was on the Alvis 2000 tour of the New England States. The highlight of the visit for David was a ride in the 1925 car! This was stored at a secure garage not far away.
