Rolls Royce Holidays.

September 2009 from Plymouth to Roscoff and drive to Cognac. 1980 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II, CYT 321V. Chassis 40021.

Twelve cars sailed from Plymouth on  Wednesday 2nd September at 23.00, bound for Roscoff. We arrived at Roscoff, after a rather choppy crossing, at 07.00 and drove to Hanvec for breakfast.

Thursday 3rd Sept.                St. Jean de Monts.   Auberge de la Chaumiere for one night.

Friday 4th Sept.                      Cognac.    Hotel L'Echassier for seven nights. This was a delightful small hotel on the

outskirts of Cognac and an ideal base for touring the area.

Friday 11th Sept.                    Aradon.    Hotel Le Stivel for one night.

Saturday 12th Sept.               Roscoff to Plymouth ferry.

We sailed home, minus the organisers who returned to Cognac, on Saturday 12th September from Roscoff in Brittany and arrived in Plymouth at 20.00 on Sunday. The group then stayed at Borringdon Hall ,on the outskirts of Plymouth, before dispersing the following day.

Total driving distance, door to door, was 1,268miles. The highlight of the trip was the lunch at the Martell Chateau on 9th September: this just happened to be on our anniversary!
