Marilyn and David's Wedding Anniversaries.

Tenth, in September 2012, during the Alvis International Weekend at Cardiff in the 1949 Carbodies Drophead Coupé.

Sunday 9th September. Our 10th Anniversary.

International Alvis Day at Llancaiar Fawr Manor. A twenty mile drive from the Hotel in glorious sunshine. The route involved going one junction along the M4, which caused some consternation because the slip road onto the motorway was closed and it was necessary to go one junction in the wrong direction!!!!!!!!!!!! The venue was ideal and had lots of parking space. There was coffee available and we had opted for the picnic lunch as we were staying on at the Hotel and having an Anniversary Dinner in the evening. We went round the manor after lunch. This was an interesting experience because all the many staff were dressed in period costume and gave us a wonderful insight into what the house would have been like in its heyday. We had put the car hood up because of the very dark clouds that had appeared by the time we embarked on our almost two hour tour. In the event, it didn't rain until much later in the evening.

We met up with a small group of Alvis friends who had also stayed for the Sunday night and walked to the Red Dragon Centre for a very good Anniversary Dinner at the Italian Restaurant.
