Marilyn and David's Wedding Anniversaries.

Twelfth in September 2014, on the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club trip to Spain and Mallorca in the 1976 Daimler Double Six Avon-Stevens Convertible.

Day Six, Tuesday 9th September and our 12th Wedding Anniversary.

A road run to Soller, via Andratx and Deia. This is a very spectacular run up the south-west of the island and involves twisty winding roads and great scenery. Traffic density has increased enormously since I last did this run in 1991. The first part to Deia was most enjoyable, but from there to Soller we were stuck behind a very slow moving coach. From Soller we headed to the Port and found it extremely difficult getting down to the seafront. Fortunately, we found a disabled parking slot beside one of the restaurants on the eastern side of the harbour. This was ideal for an anniversary lunch looking out at all the boats moored in the bay. Escaping from the Port was almost as difficult as arriving because we were stuck behind one of the trains (taking on passengers) for ages in the blistering heat. The journey home was via the new long toll tunnel back towards Palma, which avoids having to take the mountain pass road.

Later in the evening, we had an anniversary dinner at the poolside bar. Once again our anniversary had coincided with a car holiday and the combination worked well.

Wonderful scenery                                           and the fortuitous disabled slot for our lunch stop.
