Alvis Holidays.
Driving home from Pescara, Italy in Alvis Drophead FCO 154.
Day Twelve. 15th September.
At the Beau Rivage, Weggis.
Once again a lovely hotel with fantastic views out over
the lake. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the pool and lake and it
was a delight to sit and watch the lake traffic. Many of the group had gone
off to visit the car museum in Lucerne, or taken the boat to Lucerne. The
boarding pier was just along the coast and we could watch the boats come and
go like clockwork. The pool and fitness complex was impressive and I enjoyed
several swims. The weather wasn't so good by now and there was lots of clouds.
An evening reception preceded a very interesting dinner
at a popular restaurant up in the hills (part of an alpine activity centre). Cheese
fondue is something that was very fashionable years ago. It was interesting to
have one again and the cheese was delicious. A very enjoyable evening,
with taxis to transport us. We were also joined by two of the local Swiss
Alvis Owners. For us a very relaxing and pleasant day.
