September 2015. Trip
to the Isle of Man,
based at the
Ramsey Park Hotel, Ramsey.
Day two, Saturday 12th. The
Ferry to the Isle of Man. After an excellent breakfast, we headed for the
docks in Liverpool. Our first hurdle was that the major road leading us
towards the docks was closed. Signposts to the docks were also conspicuous by
their absence: great for the local, but difficult for us. Our TomTom satnav
saved the day. The crossing to Douglas was fast and very bumpy towards the
end. The journey up the coast to our Hotel at Ramsey was pleasant with very
little traffic. We were, however, rather surprised by how badly maintained
some of the roads were. The reception by the local RREC members was delightful
and we were made to feel most welcome. Many thanks. Dinner was a time to meet
old friends and relax.
