Alvis Holidays.
Driving home from Pescara, Italy in Alvis Drophead FCO 154.
Day Five. 8th September.
The drive from Riccione to Villa Foscarini,
Mogliano Venito.
The SS16 again and this time in glorious sunshine, with
the hood down. The road was still quite busy, but the scenery much more
interesting. At Ravenna we picked up the SS309 which took us all the way to Marghera, on the outskirts of Venice. The final stage of the journey was
through heavy traffic and complicated road junctions to find the SS13 to
Mogliano. The hotel was a haven of peace and tranquillity, rather "olde
worlde" in character. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. Unfortunately,
there was only the facility for breakfast and dinner was at a delightful
restaurant, Beccofino, a considerable walk into the town. We had an
excellent meal, but the walk back to the hotel was almost too much for
Marilyn.
Refreshment stop on the way.
