Alvis Holidays.
Driving home from Pescara, Italy in Alvis Drophead FCO 154.
Day Seven. 10th September.
The drive to Hotel Miranda, Riva di Solto, Lake
Iseo.
After a very enjoyable breakfast, we set off on our
travels again, hood down of course. We were the last to leave and I had
decided that driving in the Northern Italian traffic on the ordinary roads
really wasn't much fun. We picked up the A4 motorway, skirting Padua, Verona,
the south of Lake Garda and Brescia, heading towards Iseo to drive up the east
side of the lake. This was to be a terrible terrible disappointment because
most of the drive was through long tunnels, with very little view of the lake.
We were the second car to arrive and were given a side
room with large balcony and easier access for Marilyn. The shower was almost
like a "wet room" and ideal. Afternoon tea on the balcony, watching everyone
arrive was very relaxing! We had an enjoyable dinner all together and settled
down to a night without air-conditioning.
Lunch stop.
The views form our balcony.
